Or did the Consolidated B-24 Liberators have to maintain the same speed as the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress during mixed operations, so that the -24s were actually at a disadvantage when it came to anti-aircraft fire due to their lower altitude? The Boeing B-29 would of course have had a clear advantage in both criteria
