Hi, I've been offered an interview for a training program as a financial officer here in Schleswig-Holstein. I was informed that I'll be required to complete a small work sample that day and have the opportunity for an in-person interview. However, I wonder what exactly is meant by this small work sample.

I already know that the recruitment test may include a statement, a report or even a in-tray exercise. Are these the only things or what else could be happening?
Are work samples the norm in job interviews or why are they necessary? In my opinion, being convincing in the work process is much more important than a work sample that only gives a small insight into the future field of activity.
