Chemistry Solubility behavior at the particle level?
We've been given a chemistry assignment, and I'm terrible at chemistry. We have to use a diagram to explain the solubility behavior of ethanol at the particle level. I don't know how to go about it. Does anyone know how to do this?
What would caprylic acid mix with and what is it used for?
Please explain! THANK YOU 🙂
Polar Nonpolar?
Topic: Chemistry I've seen some answers on Gutfragen, but no one knows exactly what this means. Is there a precise definition, and if so, what is it?
Which important functional groups/molecules are water-soluble and which are not?
I would just like some kind of list to guide me.
Chemistry exam preparation help?
Would someone be so kind as to fill out this table with semicolons? I want to use it to prepare for my exam, but I feel like I don't understand anything about chemistry 🙁
What is easier to wash out with white spirit?
(The surface is not to be taken into account) Castor oil (from ricinoleic acid: cis-12-hydroxyoctadeca-9-enoic acid) or olive oil (from oleic acid: cis-octadeca-9-enoic acid) My guess is that olive oil has a weakly polar hydroxy group in the ricinoleic acid, which is counterproductive in nonpolar solvents. What do you think?
Can anyone help me with this chemistry problem?
Observation: After we added water, syrup, and oil to the beaker, we could see that the three substances separated from each other. Then we dropped a Lego plate into the glass. It sank slowly and then remained suspended in the layer of water. Next, we let a grape slide into the glass, which then floated…

Why doesn't water dissolve in heptan-1-ol?
