I'm flying to Mongolia soon to visit a friend's family in the countryside, among other places. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything I could take with me. It has to be appropriate, too. Preferably something useful that I might need. I find that really difficult.
For example, can I be a descendant of the Mongols? Would that even make sense? The Mongols still exist.
When the Mongols fought Hungarian knights, they simply shot them with arrows and then rode away. Shot at them, rode away, etc. Because the knights had very heavy armor, they were not fast enough on horses to catch up with lightly dressed (fur) Mongols and slaughter them with swords.
I read that Genghis Khan, or Mongols, pressed the back of his head to his heels. Because the Khan hated treason the most.
