Hello everyone, I've heard from many sources that you should let a shot or a knocker go down your throat and not swallow it. Can someone explain to me how I can let it go down without swallowing?

What would happen if someone young, let's say 12-14, drank alcohol for the first time in their life and, for example, had a knocker one evening. What happens to the body (does this cause brain cells to die?) and would she/he already feel tipsy/drunk?
