Goose liver

While preparing the Christmas goose, I noticed that the liver had an unusually yellow color. However, the liver was of normal size. That surprises me, since we got the goose from a local butcher who keeps his own geese. What could be the reason for this? And can I eat the meat safely? Best regards…
