Can the genetic makeup of germ cells be changed?
Hello =) . I have a stupid, crazy question. Can the genetic makeup and genes of human germ cells (sperm/sperm cell and egg cell) be changed or not? . Best regards from Southern Germany =)

Do germline mutations also occur in plants? My textbook talks about “germline mutations, in which the DNA of the egg or sperm cells is altered.” Hence my question… Thank you very much for your help!
Good day , I don't understand where other inheritance modes are possible.
I've watched a lot of videos on the internet and sometimes there are 2 X's in the mother cell, one from the father and one from the mother and in some videos there are 4 X's. Can someone please explain this to me?
(Mendel's rules) I don't understand how four peas can be produced in the F1 generation when there are only four germ cells. If one germ cell fuses with another, you get one pea, but with four germ cells, you get two peas? It is not possible for a germ cell to fuse with other germ…
Somatic mutations affect the body's cells and are not inherited. However, a germ cell develops from a precursor cell through mitosis. So how can only germ cells pass on mutations if they arise from mitosis? So related to mutations that occur during DNA replication, for example.
Hi, Which mutation has more serious consequences for the organism and why?
I got this weird biology homework assignment, and we're going to take a test on it. But unfortunately, I don't understand a thing.
Does this adjective indicate a 1-chromatid chromosome genotype or a genotype from only one parent (GT only from father/mother)? And what does diploid mean?
There aren't many explanations about this on the internet, and the ones that exist, I don't really understand. Can someone explain this to me? 🙂
So, meiosis turns a 2n set of chromosomes into a 1n set, so the zygote has 46 chromosomes, but why does it have to have exactly 46? Why can't the zygote have 92 and the children after it have 184, and so on? I hope you understand my question.
