Hello, is the ILS approach in modern airliners actually flown manually or does the autopilot follow the glide path and control the maxchine?

I can’t steer the airplane left and right on the ground in FSX. What is the problem?
I fly normally in FSX and then I land and want to go to the gate but I can’t steer so I can’t turn left or right. I am using a joystick if that helps! Thank you for any helpful answers.
