T-Drive: Unlimited cloud storage through Telegram API?
Hello dear GF community.
I discovered a program in the Microsoft Store (among the current apps) called T-Drive.
The description says the following:
T-Drive – virtually unlimited cloud storage, based on the
Telegram API built.
Simple authorization via your Telegram account allows convenient uploading and management of files.
A user-friendly interface for creating folders, moving, copying, and renaming files according to your preferences. Choose between detailed or grid view, small or large icons, and customize folders to your needs.
You can quickly upload and manage files using drag and drop. The interface design is optimized for maximum usability and feels like your preferred operating system.
Enjoy unlimited speed when uploading and sending files. Upload entire directories with their structure and save time.
Let T-Drive be your reliable file management partner, combining security, convenience and speed.
Because I don't know anything about this, I wanted to ask how it actually works, whether anyone knows about it, whether anyone here uses the program, whether it's the same as Google Drive, OneDrive, etc. and whether you really have endless cloud storage.

Thank you in advance.

Telegram offers an interface to write own clients. It can also be used for other things, such as T-Drive.
The basis will probably be that you can save files in your private chat or groups. Since the files are on the Telegram servers and can be retrieved from anywhere, it is a good template to the cloud.
The application will then simply combine the files from the chat to a good folder structure and prepare them for you, the user.
I don’t know how Telegram deals with excessively large storage use. If they don’t care, it will work and probably also with infinite capacity.
Thank you for your great explanation!
I think it’s kind of a very bad thing that you just pay for this app and then nothing more, even though Telegram could sell your own memory in the subscription, but do not do it.
Only if the application from the store is very dependent on Telegram, I have noticed, because if Telegram does not offer this cloud storage at some point, the application will no longer bring anything.
In addition to the developer, this also converts its application as a subscription so that it can somehow continue to finance the Telegram cloud, because the application is related to Telegram. Then he would have to pay for the costs anyway because otherwise the application can no longer live. 😀
Actually, Telegram offers only memory for the messages, where files can be included.

According to this page, a file may be a maximum of 2 GB. However, there is no problem because the number of files is not limited. Then a 3 GB file is made of 2 GB + 1 GB.
Because it’s just a messenger and most people use it as such, there are hardly any restrictions. Limits might also redirect users to change.
The T-Drive developer will be in no way connected to Telegram. When Telegram Limits is created, the program last (almost) is useless. I’d doubt he’s gonna offer his own cloud storage.
So yes, you’re heavily dependent on Telegram. The same also applies to other cloud providers, only those that are well-known there, and one is more future-proof.
