I don’t know what you want to say. If you sent the documents back to the sender:

  • I sent the documents back to you.

If you think you put it yourself in the sender’s mailbox:

  • I threw the documents in your mailbox on my own.

I would write:

I sent the documents back to you.

Maybe:
… I have deposited in your mailbox (sounds a bit pompous)
I let you know.
