Suzukie DRZ 400S Fahrwerk einstellen?
Hallo,
If you don’t know how to set up a chassis, you should look for a motorcycle suspension specialist in your area and let your suspension adjust to your body weight. That works miracles. I don’t know where you live, but in Northern Germany there would be the undisputed company Thomas Harms, whose shop is here:

Complete adjustment and verification of all components costs lt. Price list EUR 99,- and the great master makes this personally. With your support, of course, because you have to adjust when setting approx. Sit 10x sample.
Just turning around will not help, as you only notice changes in certain situations.
The only thing I would do is see if there was an extreme attitude. So, for example, damping completely open. And then change that somewhat towards the middle position. At my RS250, the pre-owner had completely turned the staggering damping of the feather leg. As a result, it is always hung up in the gas. Remember all changes!!
Tire pressure also fits? This can also lead to a smooth driving behavior.
What are the possibilities for adjusting the DRZ?
First you have to set the chassis on the original setting. You can do it yourself. I can explain it step by step. But it might be too much for a question.
After that, you have the option to set them harder. I think, however, that the setting range is not particularly large. That is why it will probably result in an exchange of the components.
Driving with a DRZ with original suspension to the suspension guru, I personally consider exaggerated. You’re probably driving on public roads, aren’t you?
The DR Z 400 S should have a fully adjustable suspension if I’m not totally crazy. Feather pretension, tension and pressure level v+h usually does not get set alone – but works miracles when correctly adjusted. A beginner will generally not be able to detect a defective shock absorber. The 99– for a visit to the suspension guru, therefore, is quite well designed – especially since the components are also checked. Whether an exchange is necessary/reasonable will show itself and whether it should be done, the questioner can still decide?
Yes, such a suspension tuning by someone who knows the chassis and the bike is something fine. Makes more sense when the installed components are high enough.
For the normal motorcyclists, however, it is usually sufficient to cleanly adjust its suspension to factory settings, to pour the right springs and the right oil. And for counting for a few clicks or changing fork springs you don’t have to be a highly experienced guru.
That’s a Suzuki DRZ. No high-end supermoto with which he wants to win the German championship.
You don’t have to spend so much money right now.
Yes in public street traffic
Hello,
first, I would look at the following things at your place: When did the suspension have the last service, which springs are installed and fit your weight, was already turned on the chassis?
If, I would reset everything to the original setting and see how it fits (the values for this have to look for yourself / operating instructions?).
Otherwise, I’d have the suspension set by a specialist in your place. This is a science for itself and requires a lot of experience. Don’t die the world and after that you think you’re on the go with a new bike.
