Suture slowly disappears into the skin?

Hello everyone

I have to have the stitches in my foot removed soon. However, I noticed during the procedure that the stitches were disappearing into the skin. Since they're no longer visible, I've been in a lot of pain and my skin is definitely irritated. One stitch even came undone and is now almost completely buried in the skin. I recently went to the doctor, and he didn't mention anything wrong during the check-up, but I find this very different from the last stitch I had, which used the same technique. Is this still normal?

From my point of view much too long. Also fits well to the condition – this is already well cured. You'll get it out. But it's gonna be a bit tricky.

I also think the threads are very long. But you get the threads out, don't worry. 🙂 all good
