Suspected narcolepsy?

Hi, I've noticed for a while now that my sleeping habits are disturbed, but I don't know if it's because of my depression or if it could be due to narcolepsy.

I normally go to bed at 9 pm and sleep until 10 the next morning, but when I get up I'm completely exhausted. Unfortunately I need exactly that kind of sleep. If I have to be out at 7 am for an appointment, I'm barely there, totally out of it, as if I've smoked 10 joins, and I'm constantly dozing off into a half-sleep, sometimes even while sitting down. I once fell asleep standing up on my bike after a party; my boyfriend thought it was really funny. I'm not sure if the alcohol was to blame, though.

Lately it's been getting worse and worse, which I blame on my depression. I have bad nightmares at night. My boyfriend says that I always wake up in a strange way and hit something.

Anyway, I thought that because I can't sleep at night or can't sleep through the night, I'm also so tired during the day. But I can't really control it anymore. When I'm so extremely tired, I sleep or doze off almost everywhere.

Do you think it's because of depression or is there more to it?

I have to say that I am pretty much out of it during the day no matter how much I sleep

You should answer a doctor, but you sleep too long, maybe that's a reason for your exhaustion. Or you have a lot of breathers at night, it can be. Or it's your medication if you take them against your depression.

Let it be settled in time if you have another condition.
