A surface disinfection is understood to mean the systematic germ reduction (disinfection) on surfaces, that is particularly true in outpatient and stationary medical devices. This is then done with special disinfectants, which are usually applied by wiping. Of course, the individual reaction time must be taken into account in order to develop a germ-reducing effect. Spraying is less efficient.
As a rule, surface disinfectants are applied to surfaces on which complete wetting with the disinfectant is possible. Material intolerances are also noted on the label.
If you want to disinfect leather shoes from the outside, it’s different than disinfecting a gym shoe from the inside. In the latter case, surface disinfectants are generally not sufficiently effective. Where they come, mushrooms (depending on the active ingredient) can be killed, but for a complete wetting of all fibers you would have to immerse or gasse the shoes. “Schuh disinfectants” are more of a feeling.
The opposite is hand and wound disinfectants.
