Study business law or business informatics?

Hi

I'm 29 years old and have decided to study for myself. I'm choosing between business law and business informatics. Which is more worthwhile for me to study at my age? Which will give me better job prospects after graduation? I should also mention that I'm not particularly mathematically gifted.
thanks in advance

It's definitely not too late to study at 29, good decision!

Both of your alternatives are economically promising, you can do both!

What you should do, therefore, is not to base your choice on economic prospects. Both have a solid foundation in economics. Therefore, study the field you would pursue if the choice were only between law and jurisprudence.

Good luck!

Then I would probably choose both, law and jurisprudence.

Then I'd recommend business informatics. You could certainly also take a few lectures on data protection law, etc. The combination would be really useful. However, you'll hardly find a solid introduction to business informatics from business law…

I know, but whatever you can achieve with business information, you can also achieve with business law plus self-acquired (solid, of course) software development experience. And there are also very good certificates for IT fundamentals; I'm thinking of Harvard's CS50, for example.

Especially in the information sector, people are more willing to forgo formalities. But if I want someone who does things right, most people are more likely to value a formal qualification.

In the end, that was just a joke, because I assume you just accidentally wrote "choice between law and jurisprudence"…

Computer science isn't just programming! I find it easier for non-specialists to get started in legal topics than in IT topics. Therefore, I recommend laying a solid foundation in IT.

Why business informatics? You said you should study what you would study if you only had the choice between law and jurisprudence. So I would do both.

I also like your suggestion. Instead of getting information, if you're really interested, you could learn programming yourself and maybe even get some certifications.
