Struggling with alcohol – sobriety and withdrawal?
Hello everyone,
I'm currently going through a very difficult phase in my life. I'm an alcoholic and consume a lot of strong alcohol every day, especially vodka (40%). Today I was sober, but I've found it extremely difficult for me to be without alcohol. The thought of withdrawal scares me, and I know it can be tough.
I've already spoken to a nurse at the hospital and was told it could take three to four weeks before I'm admitted. The feeling that I have to endure this time until withdrawal is overwhelming. I also feel the need to keep drinking right now to cope with the heavy emotions and thoughts.
Here are my questions to the community:
– Have any of you had experience with alcohol withdrawal? How did you manage to get through the time until admission/treatment?
– What are the feelings of fear and despair that one might experience during withdrawal, and are there strategies to cope with them?
– Do you think there is a chance to successfully follow this path, even if you feel so lost at the moment?
I would be grateful for any advice or support you can give me. Thank you very much!
Ask questions like e.g. Whether there are certain times that are particularly difficult, if so, try to pack this time with activities.
Alternatively, you could report to a search advice or to a self-help group.
If you have addiction pressure then work on you or if it is accurate, drink a lot of water quickly. This can also alleviate the search pressure.
You could also call a familiar person or e.g. A phone to talk to them.
Self-help groups usually take place in the evening. If this is a difficult time for you, go to them.
Find hobbies.
You make me believe in you
Fears are normal, this is also d alcohol and biochemical changes in the brain

Stop trying to stop this is the first step you’re too valuable as a human…
