Stoppie with CBS – Emergency braking with CBS?
Hi everyone, I'm looking to get a 125cc motorcycle soon. A Malaguti XSM 125, to be precise. It has a CBS braking system instead of ABS. This means that when you brake with the front brake, the rear brakes automatically apply the same amount.
Now we come to my question. What happens in an emergency stop with CBS? It's good to know that in dangerous situations.
CBS is simply a combined brake, that is not comparable to ABS at all. Downstairs just slow down when you go to the front brake and vice versa. Stoppies are still going.
You can still slip away from the front, that would only prevent an ABS.
Stopies are possible both with ABS and with CBS.
Both wheels are then braked to the blocking limit, whereby the braking path which is possible within physics is reached without being thrown off by a blocking front wheel.
The bike stops.
