Sterilize bottles?
Helloouuu,
I want to make liqueur to give as a Christmas present. Do I need to sterilize the bottles before hand? And if so, how do I do that if I don't have a large pot?

At least it would be good if you would make the bottles germ-free. This comes to good durability and it also kills germs and any mold pores that still adhere.
Glass without lid in the oven at 70-80°C. I always leave it about. 45 minutes, or put the glasses and bottles in and then let the oven heat up. He's heated, 45 minutes. germs are killed at 60° C.
I pour over the lids with boiling water. Since they are often made of metal, cork etc. I'd rather have the water.
But then the bottles should cool a little before filling liqueur.
Wash well for the first time and then sterilize or cook in the oven.
We always pour it with boiling water. We pour the lids too.
Hello,
in the case of self-made liqueurs with a sufficiently high alcohol content, the alcohol content in the beverage takes the most preservative function.
And otherwise it should also be sufficient to preclean "normal" glass bottles very carefully and in smaller stages thermochemically at about 70 to 85 degrees over a somewhat longer period.
100% sterile you do not get the whole household anyway without subsequent heat aftertreatment in the then closed and filled container.
So I always fill boiling water from the kettle and leave it in a while. Usually that's enough.
To put in the oven for some time, sterilize
