Steam says I don't have enough hard drive space, what should I do?

I want to download a game through Steam that requires 68 GB of storage space. It says I don't have enough storage space, even though I have 3.5 terabytes. I've tried all the tips and tricks… Nothing helps! Please help.

I don’t think you “3.5 Terrabytes” where Steam is stored.

You probably have an average NVMe with 265 gigabytes or 512 gigabytes and then a 4 terabytes big HDD. And on the NVMe, on which all programs and also the Steam programs are installed by default, there are only approx. 50 gigabytes free.

In the net, you will find instructions on how to easily move the Steam folder from your NVMe to the HDD. And then you can easily download the about 70 gigabytes of your new game. Have fun!

Do all your SSDs have a partition? Otherwise, 3.5TB won’t use anything.

You need to create another library folder on Steam. And then you select from the installation that the game should be installed there.

Are you sure your Steam Library is on the HDD with 4TB?

You can create a new SteamLibrary in Steam when you click Install game
