Steam drive usage extremely low, what to do?

Hey, I have a ST2000DM006-2DM164 with 2TB as my main hard drive, this is actually one of the faster HDDs ever, according to the product description 6GB/s.
I realize that this has little to do with Steam's drive usage.

But normally Steam transfers the data much faster and now only with a peak of 40mb/s, but most of the time with 26mb/s
Can anyone tell me what the problem could be? Is it a setting, or has something changed in the UEFI?

But maybe it's because of Windows 11, which I was able to install about a month ago because before that the CPU wasn't enough!

Could that have something to do with it? Disk usage was definitely faster!

No, she’s not

according to product description 6GB/s.

This is what is maximally possible through the SATA interface. The hard disk will only create a part of it – and the indication does not refer to the disk itself…

Maybe, however, it’s up to Windows 11, which I could install well a month ago, because the CPU wasn’t enough!

No, that’ll be less

Could it have something to do with it? The drive load was definitely faster!

Depending on the update, the files can be larger or smaller. If you write many very small files, the write rate goes into the cellar…

Using Steam as a measure of performance is generally stupid. Steam doesn’t show you what your really hard drive can, but what is generated by the current process of Steam just at power.

When and whether Steam is fully exploiting your Internet and hard drive speed, the Steam, Steam Client server, and the type of process downloads/installs/updates, or Windows in the processing of the files that the Steam Client transfers.

All the factors you can’t directly influence.

Just updates in Steam are extremely slow when it comes to fixed-leaf utilization due to the commonly used Delta updates. Here d’s unpacking and the mini file changes from large files extremely slow the write access. Your HDD only makes a fraction of what it really can do.

It doesn’t matter if you have an SSD or an HDD, technically the processing of mini files is always a brake. However, as you generally have up to three times higher speed with an SSD, you will notice an improvement. But you will continue to be disappointed because you will also notice that some updates are going fast, and some are slow.

Product description 6GB/s.

Never at Ner HDD… only a few SSDs connected by PCI. At Ner HDD you can start from 120mb/s and you are well served.

To do this, I only think that you can never trust Amazon with PC components.

It is probably the SATA connection that supports up to 6gb/s. What ne HDD can never reach.

Right. They are then connected by PCI 4.0. Probably faster.

Your slow Steam updates are probably due to small data that need to be stored, the smaller the data, the slower it gets at Ner HDD

Then put the manufacturer Link in and not Amazon. You can also buy from Amazon if you know what to buy. But Ner HDD is 6gb/s pure utopia.

Ne normal SSD has around 500mb/s reading speed, and this is already significantly faster than any hdd

HDDs have a neat speed when transferring less large files but as soon as a large amount of small files is transferred, the speed will collapse completely. Ne HDD has still nen movable reading/writing head that has to change the place for every little shit and it comes to slow speed

By the way, the 6GBit/s have nix to do with the fixed plate, but relate to the maximum transmission speed of the Sata interface with which the are connected. Such values tend to not approach HDD
