State salary expectations if optional?
Hello,
I'm a career starter and would like to apply for a position at several companies. However, some require a specific salary expectation when applying, while others make it optional.
Should I still state a salary expectation or should I only discuss the topic when or if I am invited to an interview?
You're mentioning that you're a professional, so I'd only discuss the salary negotiation at an invitation to the interview.
Then you can also see where the employer's idea goes and whether you can make higher demands, or only after half a year of work the salary is renegotiated.
Good luck at the interview.
If you're over-tariff, just in conversation.
What exactly does that mean to be out of line?
More to get than in tariff.
It depends. Do you have the salary you want to earn and under which you will not accept the job? If so, write it in. If no, let it go.
So I don't want to work for the minimum wage. But it should be an industry standard remuneration.
That's what you can do when talking. At some point, the content will come to the language or At some point, you should ask.
I honestly have to say that I find the question very little useful anyway.
So, as a professional starter, do you prefer not to give a salary?
If you already have a specific idea, you should specify it.
There are collective agreements for each industry. Even if this special operation is NOT bound by tariffs, it can be oriented towards it.
