Start selling on eBay?

Ladies and Gentlemen

I plan to start trading on eBay in six months. In this context, I have a question about accounting: Are my monthly eBay billing reports sufficient as invoices, since they list all the relevant information (sales, shipping, fees, etc.)?

Thank you for your support.

best regards

You also need to archive the individual orders. The Ebay invoices are just a list of your sales and the paid fees, but there are no customer data. Good luck!

eBay sales and sales through other online platforms

Practical example

Gross amount must be entered

An entrepreneur sells goods through a trading platform (eg via eBay) for a total of 119,000 EUR.

After deduction of EUR 10,000 fees, it will receive an amount of EUR 109,000.

It accounts for turnover ihv 91,596 EUR (109,000 EUR × 100/119) and a turnover tax of 17,403 EUR (91,596 EUR × 19%). This booking is not applicable.

Solution : The basis for assessment is EUR 100,000 (= amount before the settlement), because the settlement with the fees does not reduce the proceeds.

The entrepreneur owes a turnover tax of EUR 100,000 × 19% =) EUR 19,000.
