Starlink- WLAN Verbindung auch im Gästehaus?
Hi, Tech Peeps!
The Wi-Fi of the Starlink router should really not be so pralle. I have to do with Starlink on a mission but without their routers.
I would build a reasonable network behind the Starlink router and then work with an access point in your house and in the guest house.
If you rent the guest house then you could also make sure that guests do not come to your personal network.
Hi! Thanks for the quick answer! That sounds very plausible. Is this possible for me as a layman? I don’t trust the local network technicians. I also export the materials for this. Yes, the guest house is rented.
With a reasonable guide, you will definitely get it. It is important that someone in doubt can translate several hardware options to you, create the instructions and possibly then support them by videocall.
Okay. Thank you for your assessment!
I have Starlink myself. Here in the country with us it is the fastest you can get. The range from the router is really very bad already when a wall is in between and the distance is 3 or 4 meters I have anstat over 100 Mbits still 20 in the download stop. The Ethernet adapter you probably mean is to connect a Pc via Lan or an external router if you don’t want to use the Starlink router. I put the Starlink router into the Bypass Mode and thus disabled its router function. I use a fritzBox 5590 connected via Wan for my starlink. You can use any router using the Wan. I chose the 5590 fiber because, soon I get fiberglass. Buy a real router. The Starlink router also uses the basics.
Hi! Thank you for your answer! Do I need the Ethernet adapter to connect another router? The Fritzbox has a better range or do I need an additional amplifier?
Yes the adapter is necessary for another router. I use only the FritzBox for our whole house without a storm or something. the router is in the 3 floor and in the first floor where the garages are, yes there the signal is no longer so good but there we do not need anymore.
Yes, the original adapter is also cheaper. You can also buy it on the Starlink page, but in order to buy it you need to buy the Starlink kit first.
Thanks for the tip! I’m gonna ask you about that. Also just found a replica of the Ethernet adapter that fits Skylink. Is also a bit cheaper
Do not order the same as I, so is a FritzBox 4060. Because you don’t need the intergrid fashion of the 5590 for fiberglass later. Then you save money. But there are other routers who ask you what would be good for you. Look at tests on Youtube. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a FritzBox like me. I also wanted to configure it for my nas. I was used to FritzBox. FritzBoxen are also very expensive.
That sounds good, thank you. Then I order the Ethernet adapter and the FritzBox
