Constant spotting, pill Maxim?
Hello dear community π
I'm starting to get a little desperate.
I've been taking the Maxim pill for 8 years, 3 of which have been part of a long-term cycle. On my doctor's advice, I've been taking it for a year now. In April, I started having spotting, so I took a break and my withdrawal bleeding returned to normal. A few days after I started taking the pill again, however, the bleeding started again. (I usually took the pill in the evening, but I switched to midday.) It always started late in the evening/at night and was still slightly noticeable in the morning, then it disappeared during the day. My gynecologist told me to take a double dose of the pill, which I did for 3 weeks. It didn't help. I went on a break at the beginning of June; my withdrawal bleeding was completely normal. I'm back on the pill in the morning. Friday was the last day with proper bleeding, and since Sunday I've had yellow/brown discharge again in the morning. This only happened briefly in the morning when I wiped with toilet paper, and then nothing more. Is it due to the previous withdrawal bleeding that's flushing something out of my body, or is it spotting? And if so, why doesn't it go away? My gynecologist just told me that if it happens again, I should take a double dose of the pill, but that didn't help and only triggered PMS symptoms for me.
Thank you very much in advance!
I don’t think you’ll get better advice here in an anonymous Laienforum than from your gynecologist, who studies as an approbated doctor for 12 semesters, then completed an approximately 5-year doctor’s degree and has a lot of professional experience.
When selecting the “right” pill, it is important to consider which side effects occur when. The aim is to find out the most acceptable preparation for the woman.
In comparison to cyclical use, the risk of intermediate bleeding (which are already a typical side effect of each pill) is slightly increased in the long-term cycle.
Estrogen in a combination pill is responsible for the cycle stability. If one suffers from continuous intermediate bleeding, a higher dosed pill may make sense.
Depending on the cycle section in which an intermediate bleeding occurs despite the pill, the procedure is different. If an intermediate bleeding occurs despite pill a few days before the monthly bleeding (premenstrually), an estrogen-reinforced pill can help.
However, with a higher estrogen content, typical estrogen-related side effects such as headaches, nausea, breast tensions and risk of thrombosis can increase.
If the intermediate bleedings are too burdensome, you should discuss with your female physician whether another pill or even a non- hormonal contraceptive is better suited for you.
Happy for you!
Is it possible? That you don’t get the pill anymore? I used to have bleeding, which are then also wounded, but now it seems to stop with me forever.
Thank you for your star!
Yeah.
Seeing other doctor for second opinion, for the first time in my life, that someone should take the pill twice; this additionally increases the thrombosis risk and the other side effects π€.
Think about preparations change.
But much more importantly, when lubrication bleeding occurs, etc., this is a hint that the body wants to have its normal cycle back (it is forced straight through it and it shows you through the irregular bleeding) and actually a “scream” after stopping with the pill.
Let’s consider this. All right.
Unfortunately, there is no choice as I take the pill due to very strong and painful periods. But can it be that you don’t wear a pill from now on? That you have to change them after years. So I’ve had lubrication bleeding several times, but not to this extent.
This is quite common as a recommendation for action for intermediate bleeding under taking pills.
So take twice…. wow I really don’t take anything but that you should take twice does not sound really good or even better since if it hasn’t helped you this way it will not help you later. Maybe you go to another one and get βnewβ advice that would be best by fall.
Then I would change the preparation
