Constantly re-registering on GitHub?
I use Linux Mint and work with IntelliJ and VS Code. I also use GitHub Copilot in both. The problem is that I have to log in to GitHub every time I need to use Copilot. This isn't the case for me on Windows.
What could be the reason for this?
The login token must be stored somewhere safe, probably you lack the package. Did you install a package like gnome-keyring on your system (also if you don’t have Gnome as DE)?
No, not as far as I can remember
Then maybe try this (and then restart your system) 🙂
The code of ChatGPT is not so complex, haha. And he doesn’t even copy codes, but “mixes” them.
Compare code. It’s time and again. Oh, don’t think there’s anything going to happen, but trustingly, I wouldn’t build a business. 🫣
The copilot code?? How can you understand that?
The models have already been developed and disseminated; the damage is irreversible. This applies not only to the models of OpenAI & co, but to open source models that you can not simply prohibit, or at least cannot completely delete. I hope, of course, that these actions will do something.
This will be shown:

The fact that licenses themselves are often simply ignored by the largest IT companies is far from a new problem. Just like AI, who was simply unquestioned for millions of copyrighted works.
I’m 100% behind what you’re writing, but in practice you’re not going to be able to understand that. The industrial giants have jumped onto the AI hypogea for a long time anyway; is then reflected one day (or not).
Once again, it’s a harassment of Microsoft that you don’t use Linux, but Windows and they can collect beautiful data and restrict users.
Another hint about Copilot: It is not guaranteed that you can use the code that is thrown out to you, as the LLM has been trained with code with a variety of licenses. I would therefore be very cautious or generally recommend it. V.a. if you want to use the code commercially.
I personally don’t use a copilot, but I can imagine that.
Doof. I don’t have it on Windows and MacOs. Only on Linux.
Hmm, okay. Have a little research and you don’t seem to be the only one with such problems: https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/40953
I just see in the terminal that the GNOME keyring is installed…
