SSD not recognized during Windows installation?

Hello everyone,

I bought an SSD and a new Windows. Now I wanted to completely reset my PC and install Windows on the SSD using a bootable USB stick (I disconnected the HDD specifically to avoid accidentally installing it incorrectly). But now, when I go into Windows Setup, it only shows "Drive 0: Partition 1," which is the USB stick. Nothing else is listed there. A picture of it is attached.

Now the question is: What can I do, or what's the problem? I have no way to restore the system or anything like that, since I deleted everything from the old HDD beforehand.

PS: The SSD was previously recognized by the system (in Device Manager), but I couldn't access it. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal to just get started. I have the Samsung PCIe 3.0 980 M.2 1TB and I'm trying to install Windows 10 .

Thank you in advance for all answers.

Kind regards. 🙂

Windows has no driver preinstalled.

Either you can switch to AHCI in BIOS under storage or you need to download the driver and save it to another USB stick than you run through the Windows installation.

Turn off PC, connect both USB sticks and select the stick in the window where you show up on the photo load driver and select the stick.

Press Shift+F10 and enter “Diskpart” and “List disk”. Is the hard disk displayed?
