SSD durability without power?

Hello, I've had an unused spare laptop sitting in my closet for three years. It has a new SSD drive inside (it came with the purchase). This SSD has never been plugged in because I've never turned the laptop on. I've only charged the battery twice a year.

I've read that data on an SSD is lost if it's not plugged in at least once a year. Since I have to install a new operating system, etc., on this SSD anyway, data loss wouldn't be a problem. I'm just concerned about the SSD's longevity. Will it also suffer if the hard drive just sits around for three years? Does the "once a year plugged in" only apply to the SSD's data or also to its overall longevity?

Then I'd have to buy a new hard drive, which I'd treat properly from the start. I don't know what to do with the other SSD. Maybe sell it? But if it's just been sitting unused for three years and never had any power, will no one want it anymore?

I have read

Wrong read.

Since there are no important data on the SSD as you do not have to use it, you do not have to worry about the durability.
