Spotify monthly listeners?
Hi…
I wanted to find out what the monthly listeners on Spotify are like.
My question mainly concerns when these are counted.
I have significantly more daily streams on my Spotify for Artists stats than are shown in total. For example, I have 465 monthly listeners today… but Spotify only shows 150.
Why is that? Are these counted, like streams, only after 30 seconds of streaming a song?
thanks in advance for the answers🙏
The exact functioning of the monthly listener numbers on Spotify may differ from the information displayed in the daily streaming statistics in Spotify for Artists.
The monthly numbers of listeners on Spotify are not updated immediately. There can be some delay until the data is fully collected and processed. The numbers are usually updated during the month and can change from day to day.
It is also important to note that the monthly hearing numbers are calculated on an individual level and take into account various factors, such as the repeated listening of songs by the same user within a certain period of time. This means that not every single stream of a song is automatically counted as a monthly listener.
It is not exactly known how Spotify calculates the monthly numbers and what specific criteria are applied. The exact details of the algorithm have not been disclosed publicly.

All right, thanks for the answer.
But something must be lazy. It is not possible that I have so little listeners in relation to my streams.
In the last 28 days, there were 29201 streams… that they were generated only by nearly 150 listeners, I feel very unlikely. Then everyone should have heard my tracks in the month on average in 193x.
I used to count it all month… either so or 5 users hear my shortest song in the last 28 days permanently. I’m not going out of it.
The “X people just hear your music” statistics also fluctuates between 5 and 20 people a day. So something has to be broken with the monthly listener Stats.
I’m sorry that I’m writing half books here, but thanks for the help.
