SLR camera spots?
Hey, I'm a young, passionate nature and wildlife photographer, and I have a problem… I think I have a stain/foreign object, etc., on the sensor, and it won't go away. I've tried removing it with dry and wet cleaning, and even with a special cleaning kit, to no avail. Does anyone know what I can do? Without having to spend hundreds of euros on a repair? (It's not worth it, because of the camera.) It's a Canon EOS 500D.
Thanks in advance!
Hello
first you do a “Fleckanalyse” if you don’t see Fleck on the low-pass filter is probably behind it. Here you take a thread counter for the search or make yourself a template made of cardboard, where you draw stain and punch and insert it. If you cannot see any spots on the matrix, the sensor behind it is the problem you can try a remaping. If this doesn’t work, you have a camera for a monochrome astrophy because the Bayer Matrix is “chobbed off”.
For nature/animal photography, an EOS 30D (from 25€) or a 40D (from 40€). If you come from a 500D, you can “shock” a 40D on a USM optics because the AF hit rate goes up to 90% and the sensor is generated because of 10MP “cracker” images.
Otherwise, it is not possible to touch the mirrors of a DSLR and the matte disc with fingers and not to clean with solvents, cleaners or mechanically. Both parts are best made of fine structure plastic with hard fressnel tips, the mirror has plasmed “chrome” in because grooves and is also light divider for the autofocus system.
You went over the sensor with a dry cloth? Ouch…
Are you sure the spot is at all on the sensor or is it perhaps on the mirror or lens?
Cleaned the mirror and changed it objectively and he was still there… and yes I treated the sensor so because I didn’t know to help myself However, I am no longer sure whether it really is on* the sensor or not… Maybe
Make a phone photo if there’s actually a spot to see. And what exactly does it look like in the photo?
Send for cleaning or simply leave if the stain is not in an unfavorable position. You can just punch the place out.
