In hotels you will usually be able to use them. However, in the case of a rental car, a credit card may be required instead of a debit card. Reserved amounts must of course be present in the current account and would then be blocked for the first time. Can make sense to still have a credit card. Of course, you could also replace it with a free-of-charge bank. Would also have the advantage that you would have an independent alternative to (e.g. technical) problems with the savings bank and remain viable.

The savings banks give different combinations. You obviously have a VISA debit with it. This makes it clear online, but a credit card does not completely replace it. Especially when booking hotels or car hire, debit cards are often not accepted. I would therefore not miss a credit card.
