The Futuro próximo you take if something is already safe, so if you’re about to do it. It is like in German the present + time indication in the future.

Mañana voy a Madrid. I’m going to Madrid tomorrow.

You take the Futuro simple for projects that are likely to occur. But something else can change. It is like the German future.

Iré a Madrid. I’m going to Madrid.
