Special rules for the transition from the old to the new psychotherapist law in Hesse?
Hello everyone,
I started my bachelor's degree in psychology at a private university with a clinical focus in North Rhine-Westphalia on September 1st, 2020 (start of the new law) and completed it in 2023.
I have been studying at a public university in Hesse since winter semester 2023 and am currently pursuing a general Master of Science degree (but have taken clinical focus modules).
Will I still be able to begin psychotherapy training under the old law? And if so, only in Hesse or also in other federal states?
I'm so unsure because I've received various statements so far, and I haven't read about a case like this in any law. So far, no lecturer or academic advisor has been able to answer this question for me. I'm very, very grateful for any advice 🙂
That’s the old model. You just have to finish by 2032.
I had another conversation with the state examination chamber today and since my Bachelor is not polyvalent (recognized by professional law), I must not do the training for psychotherapists according to the old and new law regulations, although I have a Bachelor and Master in Psychology…how can this be in Germany, I am really worries.and so nobody says if you don’t care about it yourself.
