Some keys on my keyboard don't work?
I have a problem with my keyboard. Some keys just don't work anymore. For some reason, when I press some of them, I see a row of these keys flashing green for some reason. So that means the keys are still working, right?
Does anyone know anything about this, and is there a workaround I can try? (I had to use the on-screen keyboard feature for this text.)
So Moin with the description a diagnosis is not easy.
I suppose you have a light effect when a button is pressed?
Keyboards are divided into rows and columns, in a grid instead of which each button is individually connected, and have software on a microcontroller (firmware).
For me, it sounds like something wrong with the PCB and maybe several buttons react instead of one, possibly keys that are in the same column?
Plenty of light is there liquid or so pure and bridges a few contacts?
Or a problem in the firmware, if the light effect is also strange, you may be able to update it.
What I would do
* Connect the keyboard and use a program to see which keys are sent to the PC when.
* on the manufacturer page search for firmware updates.
* Take the keyboard out of the case, if possible, and you trust it, and see if there are any visual vulnerabilities on the pcb.
I just noticed something, and if I take the buttons out, then there is very small in each case e.g. k1 or k20 and on the buttons is on the bottom also very small k3 or k9 or so
So if your question is whether it's important in which slot which switch is, it doesn't matter.
