Is the dative really wrong?
Byzwabel3
Whenever I say a sentence like: "Because of the wind" say, a friend of mine says: "That's wrong! It means 'Because of the wind.'" Is that true? Is it really wrong? I always thought the dative and genitive were both correct, but the genitive was just "better German."
I'm kind of keen to learn to speak excellent German, first of all, first-class and very eloquent. How can I do that at 30?
I'm just not the best at it, I would love to take part in high-level discussions with other people but I lack the right words, I just can't keep up with more intellectual people, I mean I haven't exactly studied and somehow only have well-read friends, that can and should change I think to myself…
Alternatives to school when preparing for the GED test?
ByMexoxo
Hey guys, I'm in a situation right now and I wanted to ask what kind of alternatives I can get from the school in this situation: So I'm 17 (will be 18 next year) and I'm in 10th grade at a high school because I had to repeat a year. I recently found out about…
When did the last person who could read hieroglyphs live?
When do you think the last person who could read hieroglyphs died? Around the year 300-400? I don't know much about that, but I'd be interested to know 🙂 PS I mean before the decipherment of the Rosetta Stone
Vocational school to obtain a secondary school diploma. Math?
After the summer break, I'll be going to a business vocational school to get my secondary school diploma. It takes two years. In the first year, or rather, the first year of vocational school, will there be a lot of math? I can't even do the basics.
Does that sound judgmental or is it a fact?
"In general, it can be said that the school grounds are not very accessible. The outdoor area is uneven, and the entrance to the school has a staircase." We are supposed to write value-free in reports. Is this sentence judgmental or how can we write it differently?
Why do you want to learn Turkish? Makes sense only if you prefer to move to Turkey or introduce it to a Turkish family.
Can also make sense if you often make a holiday in Turkey.
Otherwise, you can start with a romantic language like Spanish and French. Both are world languages. I suppose you can already do English well. Otherwise, this language would of course be the first choice.
I wouldn’t have any interest in Spanish, I’d be Turkish. Of the music of the last 20 years, 95% are Turkish and I would like to understand it. Turkish TV series are also very popular worldwide (even in Spanish-speaking Latin America). It would be for me that only Spain would stand against much larger Turkey, because Latin America is so far away that I never get there.
I asked the question seven months ago, so I’m learning Spanish now.
Spanish is world language
South America almost completely, Central America and Spain are the largest parts in which it is spoken.
Well, Brazil’s already falling away. And who will really get in touch with a South American country in his life?
In Europe, I think French is almost more important than Spanish. In any case, a romantic language is certainly more sensible than Turkish. I’m right.
I studied English and French and then quickly learned Italian myself because it sounds beautiful and I am faster in Italy than in Spain.
Fact is: If you can learn a Romanesque language, you learn the next quite quickly.
That’s why my “almost” with South America. I wonder you think French is more important. Most say something different
Against French, many young people now unfortunately have an aversion, Spanish they find cool.
Both languages are comparable from the degree of difficulty – at least in terms of grammar. The debate and writing are more difficult for most admittedly in French at the beginning.
Those who learn from the beginning will have no difficulty in both languages.
Yes, for me French would also be more important) But the youth sees it differently. French is too heavy. I have more problems with Spanish and have stopped more often.
Most of the people who don’t know much about languages and just count the countries where different languages are spoken.
France is in any case an important trading partner for Germany than Spain.
Do you know how many countries in the world French is at least secondary or school?
I can’t start talking to both. But Spanish is spoken a little more. Mexico, share from America and Spain maybe even more.
You need to know that.
I like Spanish more.
Better italian or mandarin!
I won’t do Mandarin. How long will that take?!
Why Mandarin? Are you afraid that the Chinese will overrun us soon?
It is a language spoken only in a single country in the world + inTaiwan. So it’s not a world language for me. This name deserves only a language that can be used in many countries in the world. The number of native speakers is irrelevant.
Turkish is also not a world language and Turkey. Besides, it wasn’t asked!
If you cannot get German, Turkish can also be useful in Germany. And in Azerbaijan anyway.
Right, but I used it as a reason why Turkish is less sensible.
