Software to control Eizo with Mac?

Hello everyone,

I bought an Eizo CS2740 in combination with a MacBook Pro M1 Pro. As is well known, there are restrictions on Apple's control of the monitor. I previously had an LG monitor and the brightness could be controlled with a software called "Lunar". I don't even remember how I came across it. But I'm not sure if I even got the maximum quality because I'm using the free version (it wasn't that important until now). Before I buy the Pro version. What do you use in this area? Is there something much better? I googled it but didn't find anything useful. I hope one of you understands what I mean and knows the one app that you must have. I just don't want to work in that setup and not even see the quality I paid for.

Thank you very much in advance!

The macOS system is optimized to about 220 ppi and about 110 ppi, which corresponds to 21″ at 4k or 1080p or 27″ at 5k or 1440p. The screen you have is a 4k screen on 27″ which only results in 164 ppi. The pixel density thus meets exactly between the two macOS resolutions. The image is always a bit fuzzy and inaccurate, because missing details have to be calculated.

If you have the option I would send back the screen, especially since it is quite expensive and you cannot use it correctly under macOS.

The LG Ultrafine 5k is much better suited for macOS. It also has native support for macOS with the function keys.

Another alternative is the Samsung ViewFinity S90PC 5k and of course the Apple Studio Display when you have enough money.
