Smart something drags on the highway every now and then?
Question: I drove 400km today, and my 2013 smart fortwo started making strange grinding and squeaking noises (sometimes very loud). When I press the brake, it goes away for a moment, then returns.
This lasted for 10 minutes, then it was gone as if it had never been there. The same thing happened again two hours later for 10 minutes. Then it was gone.
40 minutes later, it was gone again. Once in the city, it disappeared completely and never came back.
A colleague took a quick look at it this morning (he's a mechanic), but said I should have it checked out properly because he couldn't find anything wrong. Even while driving through town, nothing was wrong. Only on the highway when driving for a while…really strange.
My colleague suggested it could also be the wind if he's driving too fast. For example, if I change the direction of the tires, the noise goes away. He said it could be caused by the aluminum caps.
I'm going back on Saturday and want to send it to the garage on Monday so they can take a look, but what do you think it could be?

Ich hole kurz meine Glaskugel….
also… bestimmt die Bremsen, die sind nicht nachstellend und dadurch liegen nach einiger Zeit die Beläge nicht mehr direkt an. Dadurch wackeln diese und erzeugen die Geräusche.
kann aber auch was komplett anderes sein
Danke! Also es ist auch so, dass wenn man das Fenster auf macht, das Geräusch lauter außen ist als innen. Deswegen dachte man es könnte was bei den Reifen sein.
Wenn dein Kumpel nicht mal etwas findet, wenn er das Auto fährt und anschaut, wird es wohl kaum möglich sein, den Fehler per Ferndiagnose zu finden. Soll ich raten?
Wie machst du das? Fährst du rückwärts über die Autobahn?
Ne ich meine wenn ich so nach rechts bisschen biege oder links und nicht gerade halte. Dann ist das Geräusch weg 😀 nicht so komplett Richtung wechseln xD na hoffentlich komme ich noch zurück nach Hause an. Aber komisch dass das Geräusch auch nicht immer da ist und beim bremsen komplett weg geht 😮💨
Vielleicht solltest du vor der Rückfahrt eine Werkstatt konsultieren. Wäre unangenehm, wenn die auf der Autobahn ein Rad verlierst.
