Are bird biscuits very unhealthy for birds?
Hello, I have two budgies who will soon be one year old, and I wanted to make them homemade cookies for their birthdays. Ingredients: a very small amount of honey, an organic egg and its seeds, which I buy exclusively from Körnerbude, and a few extras like sbk and parsley. The question now is, am I harming them in any way?
Birds should generally not be eaten by bakery products.
Because such a thing is the desirability of birds anything but memorable.
Best regards

Okay, then I’d rather leave it. I don’t think anything about it, but I don’t know how I can teach the birds their birthday differently. I just let them out all the time and play with them xD
Why do you want to convey something to their birds that they can’t understand or record anyway?
This is for me tradition to celebrate the birthday, whether animal or human, and one underestimates the mind of a parrot. My sperlis can be so many tricks and can even without dishes with me on the balcony. I’ll let her fly and as soon as I call her name, the little ones will come back. So if they understand this, I think that they also understand if they are particularly pampered a day a year.
The behaviour of birds is very well explored. There were even Nobel prizes for that. However, please do not interpret human behaviour, as this leads to erroneous results. Read the scientific papers about if you are interested in this topic. But do not make the nonsense out of the green corner for heaven’s sake and inhumane animal behavior.
As you write it right, “from birds” but birds and parrots are hugely different not only from size but also from intelligence. For example, canaries are not equipped with a good memory core, while parrots would recognize and find themselves in your environment (I know from my own experience)
