Are Poles or Germans more popular in Switzerland?
I would say that every country has its preferences.
In other words: There are nationalities that get along better with each other, although there are still differences from person to person.
What's it like in Switzerland? Is it easier for Germans or those of Polish descent? Are there any preferences there?
I’d say: In everyday life, as a German citizen in Switzerland, you are sure to have a little lighter, as the language barrier is – depending on the region – a smaller one than for a Polish citizen, who must then in any case learn one of the local languages as a foreign language. The German only has to understand the regional dialect and perhaps also learn to speak a little, but has a certain linguistic basis from his own native language.
In general, I know the Swiss people as open people, but they also give a certain precedence over the foreigner and have a plausible reason for this. Whether this works for you in everyday life is certainly also due to your own will of integration and ability, but also to where you land and what you bring to qualifications, money and history.
In general, I think Switzerland is an attractive country with a high standard of living, which is quite an attractive country of immigration. However, as the Swiss know this, they are of course somewhat cautious and expect for a naturalization (if this would then play a role later) quite a lot – quite rightly as I find).
So, I’m from Switzerland, and we don’t really care about the origin. At least not the people I know 🙂
The experiences that I have made with Swiss and have received from others, No. At least Germans are not necessarily popular in Switzerland. As it looks with Poland, no plan. I don’t know any Poland who lives in Switzerland or has a lot to do with Swiss people.
Since I myself have already lived in DE (Berlin / Schwarzwald) Germans are already sympathetic to me.
Of course it comes to the person who emigrates. Does she try to integrate? Does she adapt to culture? (Yes, DE and CH have different cultures)
Probably Poland.
