Are short license plate holders legal?
Good morning!
I ride a 125cc KTM Duke from 2013. I don't like the long license plate holder on the Duke at all, which is why I've been thinking about getting a short one for a while. How legal is that? After all (at least I think so) the license plate holder determines the length of my bike… and that's stated in the vehicle registration document. In that sense, you would make the moped "shorter."
If the whole thing is actually legal 😀 :
Do you have any experience with good short license plate holders or recommendations?
[I'm not really familiar with all the parts etc. on the bike yet, so please forgive me if I've just written complete nonsense here 😉 ]
Thanks in advance!!
At my Mt125, I have now also purchased a short identifier holder and therefore informed me accordingly:
The license plate holder itself is completely free of any E-number and ABE…, the only one you have to pay attention is the angle.Your license plate must have a certain angle so that the police can read it well.
Otherwise, lighting and reflectors are mandatory. Then the E-number comes into play, as these two things need one, so that we can talk about “Legal”.
I can’t answer that with the length of the bike. But I guess that doesn’t matter.Only if you look for respect control or so also Yt, you can see that it’s mostly about the angle, reflector or the illumination.
