Are clutch and brake levers universal?
So can I buy any motorcycle clutch levers and then attach them?
or what should you pay attention to when buying?

Vehicle: 2001 Volvo S80 (P2) Generation 1 2.4 n/a 5 cylinder petrol Hello, I'm bringing up another question of mine. I have the same problem, only this time with error codes, etc. So, to explain, 2 out of 3 times this has happened so far, it was raining. The engine was warm, and it always…
Hello, I'm currently looking for a 125cc motorcycle. I came across the Brixton BX 125, and I really like the café racer look. The specs say it has CBS (Combined Brake System). What is that, and is it comparable to ABS? ABS plays a big role for me, and I wouldn't buy a motorcycle without…
Hey people, I'm really desperate. I've finally finished my driver's license and passed everything on the first try. The final cost came to €5,000???? I'm totally shocked to be honest. As I said, I passed both the theory and practical tests on the first try. I've had over 40 driving lessons but €5,000 is still…
Hello, my scooter (Kymco Yup 50) 2-stroke won't start. I've checked everything. It has gas. It's getting air. New gas. The ignition spark is there. The battery is full. Jump-starting the engine doesn't work either.
I haven't ridden a motorcycle very often, but I always have trouble starting. The engine simply dies too often. I often release the clutch too quickly at the end. Do you have any tips?
Hello, I'll soon have my A1 driver's license and wanted to buy a Beta RR 125 LC (model year 2022). The dealer said it only had 13 hp, but everywhere I read it had 15 hp. That's why I wanted to ask, what's true now? Is there a supermoto (legal for A1) that's more powerful…
if the lever secures enough tension length and the bowden cable can be hooked in to separate the clutch clean, you can mount it. but reckon that a professional tüv examiner who notices at the next HU that it is not an original part.
What can happen if it is noticed at the TÜV?
The TÜV does not notice this, but the police likes to control this and because brake and clutch levers without E number represent a safety risk, your motorcycle will then be shut down until you change the levers.
what do you think? but if the lever works correctly, and also is not optically fancy, the examiner does not notice that because it focuses on other things.
if it is a lever from the accessory, so not OEM, then it must be identical to the OEM and have impressed an “E” test mark… then there are no problems. All other items require ABE or individual opinions and registration in the certificate of authorisation, by the TÜV/Approval Body
Similar levers with “E” test marks need not be entered. Whether they come from Magura, Pro-Brake, Sachs, ATE, Brembo, Lucas, etc. or the Polo, or Louis own brands. These manufacturers hold the appropriate ABE ́s / have made sample reviews for their offered spare parts.
The problem is with self-printed or milled spare parts, or Spare parts made exclusively for racing. In the case of such spare parts, I would have the utmost caution, and would not be allowed to do so, even with TÜV expert opinion and registration in the certificate of authorisation. However, the costs for expert opinions and registration are not proportional. The TÜV individual opinion for a printed or milled brake lever is already close to the 1,000 € mark, the registration costs approx. 20 – 40 euros. For the money you can wear 2 original levers every year.
Do I have to put the coupling levers in, or is it enough if they have an E number?
I’ll give you the right… at the TÜV it won’t be noticed…. There are problems only when the wrong lever is caused by an accident (which I can hardly imagine in the clutch lever if it does not increase the previous vehicle dimensions). In this case, a motor vehicle expert would recognise the type-approval for the entire vehicle, which in turn means: no valid authorisation and no insurance cover at the time of the accident.
there are different levers, basic features:
all levers on the left and right
You already need to use the levers that are provided for your vehicle and have an “E” test mark.
All right, thanks for the answer 😀
