Are KTM motorcycles bad?

My dad doesn't want to buy me a KTM or the associated Husqvarna brand because, in his time, they apparently only sold machines that needed repairs, or the things break down very quickly.

I want to get an enduro, but I can't find a brand that fits my dad and that I still like.

That's why I wanted to ask if I can get an (a2) enduro machine without having to worry about high repair costs.

Do you have any experience with KTM?

because the machines that are supposed to have been sold only in need of reperature at that time

Whenever that was (20 years ago I heard similar things in Motocross Sport), it has nothing to do with today’s road-fitting machines.

My Duke 2012 Duke 690 (the same engine had as the Enduro R) was absolutely reliable. And I squeezed them on the race track.

Never drove Enduro machines, but with my Ktm Duke 390 I never had problems.

A friend of mine has a Husaberg and says that these are relatively needy, apart from being difficult to get. Many cross-machines are also not road-admissible or only conditionally and halfway deadly.

No, I find myself very good. Owned 2 KTM’s and is my favorite brand to date. Unfortunately, always a bit expensive…

A real A2 Enduro does not currently build KTM when you look off the 690 “Enduro”.
The EXCs can be forgotten on the street.

KTM is now as reliable as other brands. Depending on the engine, they are much more expensive. Service is extremely expensive at KTM, so the single cylinders do not last forever.
This is less KTM than the single cylinder itself.

Not really. I don’t see much sense in an enduro on the street.

Maybe something like a Yamaha tenere 700 but otherwise less.

My father-in-law ran a Aprilia with rotax engine: 80,000. Why should a single-cylinder engine keep less?

Actually, Excs aren’t so bad for the road you would have to upgrade them to supermoto and that have to enter itself one and it makes a huge fun on supermoto

the EXC is a competitive machine. she was never meant for the streets. extreme maintenance is specified. And with that you are exactly where your father wants to nciht you. Because then the prejudices of your father vote in front and back. In addition, an EXC for enduro sports and on the road is only extremely throttled (they only have a road permit because it prescribes the FIN for sport. )

For driving on the road, ex is the worst machine you can get.

the only one that comes to you in the KTM election is the 390 Adventure R .

The whole EXC are not road machines and clearly fall into the troubled things of your dad.
