Are HDD or SSD external hard drives better?

If I now want to save data on an external hard drive as data security (backup).

Should I then use an SSD or HDD hard drive?
I've heard an SSD is better because it's faster and better protected against data deletion due to shocks, for example.

I have heard an SSD is better because it is faster and better protected from data deletion by e.g. shocks.

That’s right. In case of emergency, you would have to become a data forensic. However, SSDs generally have a shorter service life. It would be best to store your data in a cloud in general.

Cloud can be done, but in the end, a cloud is a PC that someone else controls. However, it can still be quite useful to have some important data on the cloud, just to be able to access it, but you must then be able to live with it that they might always get stuck.

But in addition, I would still store important data manually on an external record. You can do both and with naja, very piquant data, store them only offline or encrypt them very well.

at the end a cloud is a PC

A cloud is a decentralized system via one or more server networks. If you are not too sure, you can also encrypt your data in the cloud.

Not that. It’s more like talking about writing on the device.

Depending on what you want, do you want to use it as an external backup? Then take ne HDD, do you want it to run permanently, almost as something like a NAS, with it being important to you to have a lot of storage? Then take HDD ́s that turn more slowly and turn them into a RAID. There is also the possibility, then a little what costs you hollow a RAID 5 controller and all the way to a very fast network, since there are now more than just the 1 Gb variant.

You should take an SSD if you need a very fast data access, but you can also access it with a fast USB port, or, as my opinion, if you want to take it with you often or even want to run actively on the go or on the go. There are no moving parts in there, unlike a HDD.

I would recommend a HDD for long-term storage.
