There’s something like that:

The S51 was the successor of the S50. S50 was built between 1972-1980 and the S51 between 1980-1989.

S50 had the engine M53 with 3.6 hp and only 3-speed. S51 followed with 2 motors M531 (3-speed) and M541 (4-speed) with 3.7 hp.

At first, the S50N had only a 15Watt headlight. Later in the series was then increased to 25 watts. In the case of the S51, the installation of 35Watt lamps was followed by electric ignition vehicles.

The S50 had the old “Büffeltank” with 9.5L content until 1978. With the new engines, a slimmer 8.7L tank was also installed.

The S50 fenders still had a cross strut, which was the case with the S51.

S50 had no wrinkles on the tele fork and only a rear mirror as standard.

The S51 also introduced variants C (for comfort, i.e. the full equipment), as well as variant E (for Enduro). At the S50 there were only versions N and B, where B was then split up in B1 (U-ignition) and B2 (E-ignition).
