Does my guinea pig look healthy?
First of all, my guinea pig isn't alone. There are two of us.
I picked them up from a farm in April 2021.
I just want to know if anyone knows anything about them and if they look okay from the outside.
I saw a video on a TikTok account. A rabbit cage. With bars and a drinking bottle, a house, and a toilet. The outside area in the garden was just a bar. The rabbit was alone, and the first time, there was about 5 cm of bedding. The cage was about 1 to 1.2 meters…
Hi, four weeks ago, our two dwarf rabbits moved in from the animal shelter. The doe was apparently pseudo-pregnant at the end of March. A week after we moved in, we found quite a lot of fur in her litter box, but both rabbits still seemed to be completely covered in fur. The internet said…
Yesterday morning we woke up and went to our 3 month old rats. Around 9 a.m., we noticed that our active, still somewhat shy rat was crawling towards us and letting us pet him. When he hadn't left us after three minutes, we became concerned. We noticed that her nose was running a bit and…
We let our rabbits roam freely in the garden, and over a week ago, I saw one of them eat several yew berries. She's fine, but we've now fenced off that part of the garden. Yew berries are highly toxic to rabbits, so why did my rabbit still tolerate the berries well? Are some rabbits…
So, without a vet, for us with two rabbits, it would be around €30-40 a month. That includes food and bedding. It could be significantly less if we go out more and collect grass. How much do you spend?
Feel free to write down your favorite animals! Thanks 🙂
Apparently, it looks healthy. At least as far as you can see it in the pictures. However, what you should really rework would be the wire of the outgoing because this is anything but safe (that gets every guinea pig bit through, from every predator… in general, you should revise your complete exit or cradle again because this must be very well secured against all predators from all six sides. And it is only suitable for double galvanized narrow-mesh volierenwire or for the floor optional walkway plates) and if really dry food is in the bowl you should definitely drop this and no longer give it. From now on, however, you shouldn’t just let this away because you can cause massive gastrointestinal problems.
Especially because you have to feed the right food slowly, so if you raise the fresh food quantity you are less from the dry food you are no longer giving and only fresh food. For example, hot mixed meadows (grasses and wild herbs), plenty of leafy vegetables (i.e. salads, cabbage (but actually only if no more dry food is fed and that is no longer possible for a longer period) spinach, mangold etc), kitchen herbs, vegetable green (bloods of cabbage or cauliflower, carrots, etc. Heu should also be available around the clock, but the fresh food should also be available, because this should be the main feed, since guinea pigs are fresh.
The guinea pigs do not fit through the fence, because thin metal rods are still arranged
If dry food is in the bowl, this would not be a guinea pig just feeding.
So take out, never give again, and only ever make hay available, and day I enjoy?
In any case, permanent. Mohrrüben mit Kraut, Dill ,Petersilie. Fennel, herbs, grasses, they can be fed multi-layered. Go to the pages of sea pig attitude, you get a whole list
As long as it does not keep winter sleep, everything is good
What’s that supposed to mean?
So the two were inside the enclosure until 3 weeks ago because it was still too cool with us. They’ve been acting since they’ve been out there and are very active and happy. :
