I bought a Shure mv7x a few days ago and unfortunately discovered that the microphone quality was significantly worse than expected. Since I don't own a mixer or anything similar, I bought an XLR-to-jack cable and connected the microphone to it. Perhaps that's the problem.

Man geht halt nicht mit einem 170€ Mikrofon über ein 12€ XLR-auf Klinke (und dann auch noch 3,5mm) direkt in den PC.
Die fachmännische Lösung wäre gewesen:
Mikro > XLR Kabel > Audiointerface > PC

Wenn das dann immer noch nicht die erwartete Qualität liefert, liegt es dann entweder an einer falschen Erwartungshaltung, Fehler in der sonstigen Handhabung oder der Raumakustik.
