Should you wait a bit or find a new partner straight away?

Hello,

My budgie died this afternoon and now his partner is alone.

His friend was doing great yesterday, but when I came home from work he was lying dead in his cage.

I'm worried he was sick, so I'm going to take the other one to the vet to have him checked out just to be sure. He's only a year old, and I'm wondering if I should get him a new partner right away or should I wait a bit?

Does it then take longer to get along with a new partner again?

I don't want him to stay alone for too long, because I don't want to do that to him…

Sittiche are couple animals(to two).It would take a short while until the two know each other.Clar there will be very small quarrels,but that will happen later.Have some patience and soon everything will be fine again.
