Should soils depleted by overly intensive and unsustainable agriculture be left to return to nature instead of sealing them?

The question confuses many things.

German agriculture is generally well-managed, despite the constant environmental complaints.

The soil will not be "leached" if fertilized properly.

The land does not belong to the state, so it cannot simply build settlements on the fields.

Food is becoming more and more needed, so it's crazy to build anything.

Soils cannot simply be left to nature, as they have owners and these owners have completely different goals than "bush and nettle growth".

We live in a cultural landscape that has been cultivated by humans for thousands of years. Without human influence, natural ecosystems or lush flower meadows would not develop on fallow land.

The areas used for agriculture are needed for your food.

Other areas are needed for housing construction.

Increasing density in cities will not be possible, as many people will simply not accept the demolition of their single-family homes.

Well then you provide 60 employees, without pay, who work the small plots with small tractors and other equipment, and another 40 employees who look after my hedges and ditches in the small plot operation.

For that, I charge 75 euros for a kilo of pork mince!

Since we don't have this type of agriculture here, we don't have these types of soils either. So the question is irrelevant.
