Should I repeat 11?

Hi guys,

I'm currently in eleventh grade. I'm not a bad student, but one of my advanced courses is giving me a lot of trouble. I chose advanced physics because I did relatively well in middle school. Since this school year, however, I haven't understood anything at all, which is also affecting my participation grade. I'm trying to prepare for the lessons at home so that I can participate reasonably well, but I still hardly understand anything. I got a 4- in my last exam. I'm doing reasonably well in the other subjects, but since I have to take physics for my Abitur, I'm really desperate.

If I repeat the 11, I would probably miss my friends a lot, but that's not really a priority.

What I would also be interested in is whether I can choose my Lk's again or whether I can keep my current ones?

What would you do?

This depends on what you want to do with your Abi and whether you need a certain level of grade for a study, which you can no longer achieve.

If you don’t want to study, you can even consider if you don’t want to stop it ^

Hi.

I also have a problem with this issue. Maybe someone can help me? It’s my last posted question. This isn’t supposed to be advertising now, but I need urgent help.

P.S. I don’t know the subject. Sorry.

Whether you should repeat the 11 depends on how you assess the situation yourself and what priorities you set. It sounds like physics is really hard for you right now and you’re worried that you won’t be clear in Abitur. This is absolutely comprehensible, especially if, despite preparation, you always feel nothing to understand.

The advantage of a repetition would be that you could probably re-elect your performance courses. In most federal states, this is possible, but ask for security reasons at your school or your counsellor. In addition, you would have more time to consolidate the basics in physics or other subjects, and could go to Abitur with a better start. Your overall score could also benefit from this.

Of course, there are also disadvantages. You’d be in school for a year and have to integrate yourself into a new class, which is not always easy. You’d probably miss your friends from the current vintage, even though this might seem less important in the long term.

Before you make a decision, you should talk to your physics teacher and find out if there are other options, for example targeted help or tips on how to prepare yourself better. Maybe it’ll make you progress without repeating it. Also talk to your counselor about the option to repeat the 11 and re-elect your courses.
