Should I charge for this?

I (f, 15) have been taking riding lessons for several years and have a riding partner, and I've been helping my riding instructor a lot for about two years now. I'm often there during riding lessons with several children, leading the horses with the children, entertaining the children who aren't riding, and sometimes spending about 20 minutes of the 45-minute lesson with just the child. For example, my riding instructor is lunging a horse and isn't paying attention to me or the other child, while I "play" riding instructor for the child. The little ones also use me as a riding instructor. I help once a week for three hours, and during school holidays, I help about twice a week at children's day events with several children. During children's day events, I do a lot of crafts with the children, so I look after three to five children for about 60 minutes and do crafts with them. I also help groom and saddle the horses, take the children to the toilet, etc.

So I'm a great help, and sometimes I look after the children in their class alone for half the time. However, I don't get paid for it, and I don't get any discount on riding lessons; I just do it out of kindness.

I wanted to ask what your opinion is. Of course, I enjoy being with the children, and I'm happy to do it without pay. But I help her a lot and also look after the children in her place and teach them how to ride. Am I allowed to charge for this or offer a discount on my riding lessons? Or am I completely mistaken?

A riding school mother recently asked me if I was doing this as a youth job to earn a little extra money, which is how I came up with the idea in the first place.

I look forward to your opinion 🙂

Usually, such a riding class runs in the club context – so honorary. So I would be curious to ask for a salary, but I could already imagine a “battle” on my own riding lesson.

of course you should get money for it.

But what about liability? once accepted an accident happens with a student and you were just the “reit teacher” then are your parents (!) If there must be a contract that this is resolved .

Even if you hurt yourself with a trainer, what is it?

These topics do not take on the light shoulders!!! here we talk quickly of up to 100,000 pain money or more. In extreme cases, you/parents pay for life if someone has to sit in a wheelchair
