Shortness of breath while sleeping?

Hey, I've been having this problem for a few months now: When I wake up, I feel like I'm half asleep, unable to move, and unable to breathe. I always get agitated and then just come out of this "dream" or whatever it is.

I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this or something similar. Thanks in advance!

This sounds to you after sleep paralysis. It's normal for every person so that you don't get hurt at night. In some people it can stand out (sleep walks). However, there are also people in which they stop a moment after the awakening. Then it's impossible to move.

Breathing should continue as well as sleep. But if you panic through your condition, it is quite normal that you stop breathing (as this is already possible at the moment). You should talk to your doctor about it so he can scare you.

Otherwise, the next time just try to stay calm, take it as normal – if you can. Then it'll be less threatening. You will probably feel your breath again.
